Brief History

St. J.B.Cottolengo was born in Bra, a small town in Piemonte, moved to Torino where he founded the
Little House of Divine Providence, a home for old people, for physically and mentally handicapped and for the poor and the sick.
To relieve all these human  sufferings he founded  Sisters, Brothers and Priests who are spread in many nations, Italy, India, Africa, Ecuador, USA, carrying the charisma of St. J.B.Cottolengo. Today the Little House called "Cottolengo" counts 125 houses.
Our Founder was canonized as a saint in April 1934.
The Catholic Church recognized his heroic virtues, especially an ardent faith and trust in Divine Providence
and a splendid evangelical charity.
